Limpopo Softball Association (LSA) expressed its concern over teams that decide which league matches to honour.

The provincial governing body voiced its concern after relegation candidates Mashite Eagles failed to show up for their game against Seshego Raiders at Hlakano diamonds in Zebediela on Sunday.

"We do not expect any team to pick and choose the games that they want to honour," Mesh Matsetela, LSA president, said.

"Such behavior will not be accepted in any way as it will bring the league into disrepute. The recent issue of Eagles will be referred to the disciplinary committee that will pronounce the form of disciplinary action against them.

"On the other hand, we are impressed by the running of our LimDev Super League and also our regional leagues, as most of the problems encountered are easily resolved. We further want to commend supporters for rallying behind their teams throughout the season."

Eagles' rebellious behavior has made them favourites to join the already relegated Sebayeng Sharks.

The GaMphahlele outfit has managed to collect only 10 points from a possible 51 with five matches lefte.

Fellow relegation candidates Hlakano Dodgers failed to use their home-ground advantage effectively when they suffered setback in the hands of Seshego Raiders and University of Limpopo (UL).

In their opening match they were pipped 7-0 by Raiders, while in their final match they succumbed to UL pressure, the visitors coming back from 0-2 down, to wallop them 11-4.

The league programme is expected to be in full swing this weekend at Mahwelereng where title contenders Mahwelereng Spikes, Seleteng Giant Killers, Moletlane Texas and Lebowakgomo Wild Beasts will be in action.
