Cricket fields in five provinces will be a hive of activity when thousands of kids take part in the Bakers Mini Cricket festivals on Thursday.
The provinces involved are Gauteng, Eastern Cape, Western Cape, Northern Cape and KwaZulu-Natal.
This event will be part of festivities planned by Bakers and Cricket South Africa to celebrate the significant effect that 25 years of Bakers Mini Cricket has had on the the cricketing talent of the nation.
It was launched 25 years ago by former United Cricket Board of South Africa managing director Ali Bacher.
Aspiring children between the ages of six and 11 will take the pitch in a one-day event at different venues to showcase their talents, starting at 2pm.
They will be able to learn valuable life skills on and off the field, including discipline, teamwork and sportsmanship.
Venues to be used for this mega festival are Wanderers Stadium (Johannesburg), Sahara Park Newlands (Cape Town), Boland Park (Paarl), Willowmoore Park (Benoni), De Beers Diamond Oval (Kimberley), Sahara Stadium Kingsmead (KwaZulu-Natal), Sahara Oval St Georges (Port Elizabeth) and SuperSport Park (Pretoria).
