Everyone plays a role within a circle of friends. There's the funny guy, the smart guy and the butt-of-all-jokes guy, all of whom are normal characters in groups.

Everyone plays a role within a circle of friends. There's the funny guy, the smart guy and the butt-of-all-jokes guy, all of whom are normal characters in groups.

But if one of the members has taken on one of the following unhealthy roles, you might have a hard time functioning as a unit.

l The user

This is the guy who only pretends to be your friend for his own personal gain. Whether it's your car, money or valuable connections that he needs, he'll be as nice as he can and then forget about you the minute he exhausts your resources.

l The self-absorbed dude

The majority of your conversations together are spent discussing his problems and he is blatantly uninterested in what you have to say.

If you were to suddenly stop giving him the attention he craves, he would forget you even existed.

l The mooch

Ah yes, the mooch - the shameless being whose sole purpose in life is to live off your riches. He eats your food, wears your clothes and borrows your money, never returning anything you do for him.

l The leech

A leech constantly hovers around you, wanting to track your every move and expecting you to hold his hand every time he does something.

And should he not find you, you can bet he'll call everyone and their fathers to locate you. In other words, a leech invades your personal space and suffocates you until you feel the need to hide from him for some alone time.

l The flake

As one of the most frustrating kinds of people to deal with, an overly unreliable person drops plans at the last minute, makes promises he can't keep, never shows up on time, and cannot be trusted with anything. - askmen.com
