Dumile Nkosi was born on January 27 1973 into a very big family. He was one of Wilson and Thandiwe Nkosi's 13 children.
He died on April 28.
After his tertiary education, Nkosi eked out a living as an entrepreneur in the construction industry and various other sectors. This culminated in his being among the first young black entrepreneurs on the West Rand to break into the bond market, a sector dominated by whites.
A long-standing friend and comrade in the Black Consciousness Movement (BCM), Nkosi was active in keeping the BCM alive through the Bekkersdal Peace Pact process.
At TNT, he chaired the Azanian Student Convention branch. During his tenure his charisma saw him being elected political commissar of the SRC from 1992 to 1993.
He was also elected Bekkersdal branch secretary of the Azanian Youth Organisation.
In 1998 Nkosi was elected national publicity secretary of the Azayo.
His passing is a great loss to his friends and comrades, family, son, daughter and the whole nation.
Nkosi will be buried on Sunday at the Bekkersdal Cemetery.
