Selling food is a sure way to make a living

Food is always part of a human's life and there is no substitute for it. For people to be able to function they need energy. Therefore, you can never go wrong when you start a food business.

But, remember it needs to be in the right place and there must be a market for the kind of food you will be selling. What this means is that you must research the food tradition and behaviour of your target market.

A food business does not necessarily have to be a shop where people can come and eat. It can be taken to another level by making it mobile. You only go to serve your customers at a particular place and at the right time.

For example, many people who work in the industrial areas walk long distances to buy food for lunch. Therefore, you must look around and you will definitely find a place where you can start your own mobile kitchen and have your own customers.

There are many places, including business parks, that need such a service. Take your food to your customers instead of making them come to you. Start a mobile kitchen service with your special menu.

Look for companies that sell mobile kitchen units. Compare prices and features before you can buy.

There are some health compliance issues to be considered though. You must visit a Department of Health office to find out what permits you will need. They will provide all the information about street vending that you will need to get started with your mobile kitchen service.

Choose what type of food you want to sell. Sell sandwiches or prepare full dinners according to what will sell best in your area. Or sell everything made to order.

You need to do some research and decide where you want to go with your mobile kitchen service. Some companies will let you park and sell on their property but they will charge you a fee in return.

Street parking is also allowed in some areas but be sure to check with local authorities first.

If you plan on parking your mobile kitchen unit at your home, check the local regulations first. Many residential areas will not permit this, so be sure not to overlook this step.

You can rent or purchase a space to store your mobile kitchen unit. On the environmental and cleanliness side you must check into commercial waste disposal. The waste company that services your area should be able to provide a dumpster for the waste that will be created from your mobile kitchen service.

Just like in any other business, you need to take pride of your customers once you start having them. Remember, word of mouth is the most convenient and inexpensive marketing tool.
