The ANCYL has failed the masses. It is not relevant and its politics is way too rigid to adapt, understand and follow.

They represent themselves as campaigners for certain individuals and ignore their mandate to inform, educate and represent the youth as a whole "collectively".

Townships such as Soweto, Khayelitsha and eZibeleni battle with criminals each and every day. You can't blame ANCYL president Fikile Mbalula for that, but does he really care about these issues?

Has this guy visited these places? Is the ANCYL relevant? Does it care about youths who have matric but are unable to go to varsity owing to a lack of funds? Do they put personal interest before the country?

I think they have failed. These leaders of the future are misleading our people. It's a challenge the ANC has to deal with.

The Bikos, Sobukwes, Kings and Mandelas joined the struggle very young but had ways of dealing with political issues in their parties.

They never showed hooligan manners because they were role models and undertook their responsibilities as leaders. This worked beautifully.

Lastly, let's support Zimbabweans. I think Jacob Zuma's approach to Zimbabwe is right. We can't remain quiet about things affecting our brothers and sisters.
