Rising sprinter Nombulelo Mkenku will be South Africa's main medal hopeful during the World Junior Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland, from July 8 to 13.

Athletics South Africa announced a provisional team of 20 athletes to take part in the biennial International Associations of Athletics Federations (IAAF) event.

Molatelo Malehopo, ASA acting general manager, said the Poland-bound team was selected after the recent Yellow Pages SA Junior and Youth Championships.
