Free State Stars are planning to set up a fully fledged youth development structure in June, which will be spearheaded by top Ghanaian coach David Duncan.

Duncan, the reigning coach of the season in Ghana, has signed a three-year contract with the ambitious Ea lla koto. He is the former Under-17 national coach but is currently employed by Ashantigold, Ghana's Premier League outfit.

"We are expanding and it is true Duncan is coming on board to help us with our youth development, we are serious about establishing a solid academy," Stars boss Mike Mokoena said.

"We did not think twice when his name was mentioned to us by one of our contacts in Ghana. He has worked with the youth and is an expert in that field.

"Duncan will be working with Sammy Troughton, who we employed for the development structures two weeks ago. We want to start developing our own players."

Reports from Malawi have said Kinnah Phiri has been asked to guide the Flames on a permanent basis. "Phiri told me the Malawians asked him to help out during the off season in June for a soccer tournament to prepare for the 2010 World Cup," said Mokoena.
