Thanda Royal Zulu are confident they will avoid relegation. Their optimism is in spite of having dropped crucial points at a delicate time of the season.

"We were in a worse position before the festive break," said Royal's coach Roger Palmgren. "We then worked hard to correct that, hence I say we will move out of trouble.

"Our recent defeats by Bloemfontein Celtic and Black Leopards are now water under the bridge. Our focus is on winning two out of the remaining three matches. Our future is in our hands, once we drop points we are out.

"My absence in the coming two weeks because of a suspension that I received in the Leopards match will be solved.

"One of the players will take care of the team during play.

"Although we will not rely on other teams' results, the fact is that Cosmos and Leopards will have to play each other and that will work to our advantage."

Royal suffered two defeats - 0-3 to Bloemfontein Celtic and 2-3 to Black Leopards.

They are on position 14 with 24 points from a possible 81, with only three matches to finish the season.

Royal will play Santos, Bidvest Wits and their last match will be against Cosmos.
