Hands off our leaders, says ANC

The ANC in Mookgophong in the Waterberg region of Limpopo has urged unruly youth leaders in the area to refrain from attacking its leaders for lack of service delivery.

This follows recent incidents where youth leaders have been at loggerheads with ANC officials in the area. In a hard-hitting statement released yesterday titled Enough is enough - hands off our leaders - the ANC said the youth were part of a small group targeting Premier Sello Moloto, MECs and some female mayors in the region.

"These inflammatory and propagandistic statements and short-sighted assertions are only meant to redirect the focus of these leaders from their core business - that of service delivery," said the statement.

The statement added that the people of Mookgophong were satisfied with the current pace of service delivery.

"This is a deliberate and orchestrated move by the youth to sabotage the municipality and impede the delivery of services," said ANC sub-regional spokesman Jimmy Seshoka yesterday.
