After a successful live CD launch at the State Theatre in Pretoria, award-winning gospel group Joyous Celebration is heading for the Eastern Cape.

The outfit, which has just released its 12th double CD, will give performances on Friday and Saturday at the Christian Centre, East London.

Co-founder Lindelani Mkhize says: "As Joyous Celebration Foundation we believe that Joyous 12 goes back to the core and essence of what made it the platinum award-winning inspirational music extravaganza it is today."

Gospel followers should expect true entertainment and spiritual upliftment.

Joyous Celebration, which is nominated for one of the South African Music Awards, is one of the really successful gospel groups.

Since its inception in 1996 the group has become a conspicuous brand in the South African music industry.

With its inspiring and soulful music the group continues mesmerise local audiences.

As the longest-running contemporary gospel ensemble, it has set trends in the gospel genre while maintaining the highest quality in music and presentation.

It did not stop there. Joyous Celebration has even contributed to the growth of contemporary music in the country, giving it a solid platform and the recognition it deserves.

Jabu Hlongwane, one of the groups' co-founders, says: "We certainly hope that the 12 years have given us a foundation to build and take Joyous Cele- bration to greater heights."

In the process the ensemble has unearthed the talent of musicians such as Sabatha, Swazi, Nokukhanya and Ntokozo Mbambo among others.
