Thanda eye Celtic

Thabani Gumede, Thanda Royal Zulu spokesman, believes beating fellow strugglers Bloemfontein Celtic on Sunday will make a strong case for avoiding the dreaded relegation come the end of the season.

The two meet in an Absa Premiership fixture at Princess Magogo Stadium at 3pm.

Celtic and Thanda are embroiled in a relegation dogfight with Jomo Cosmos and Black Leopards.

Though Celtic are above the other clubs in terms of the log standing, it will be foolhardy of them to think they are already safe from the axe.

They would have to win all their remaining five matches to be safe because the other relegation candidates can spring an upset in their encounters.

Gumede is adamant their home territory will give them an edge over Celtic.

The match could see the return of Thanda's stylish linkman Emmanuel "Scara" Ngobese after he was left out for the Mamelodi Sundowns clash last week.

Bennet Mnguni is another key player for the hosts in midfield while Bernard Parker holds the key upfront.

Sello Nduna, Celtic's spokesman, said nothing will preclude them from beating Thanda Royal Zulu in their own kraal on Sunday.

Moses Spandeel and Daryl Smith will be Celtic's trump cards.

l It will also be vital for Leopards to beat Bidvest Wits at Thohoyandou Stadium tomorrow.

Sheppard Murape, Leopards' coach, should be worried about his side's defence, which has been generous in allowing their opponents to score without any difficulty this season.

Kickoff is also at 3pm.
