A power cut shortly before 12.30pm yesterday disrupted proceedings at a briefing in Pretoria to discuss a possible mass action against Eskom.

The briefing was hosted by trade union Solidarity.

The briefing discussed possible mass action against Eskom over possible job losses as a result of the power crisis.

Eskom wants to increase power tariffs by 53percent and has asked industry to conserve energy by reducing usage.

"The electricity crisis is a real threat to workers, " said Dirk Hermann of Solidarity. - Sapa
