Jozi FM deejay Mbuyiselwa "Zuluboy" Mhlanga has been fired. The strange part, however, is that he does not know it.
The host of two popular shows, Ibuya and Culture Talk, had earlier been suspended for nine months.Sowetan learnt yesterday that Mhlanga was, after a hearing, fired last month.
Jozi FM station manager Nono Mchunu confirmed yesterday that the decision that Mhlanga's services were no longer needed was taken last month after his hearing.
Meanwhile, Mhlanga said as far as he was concerned, he was still an employee of Jozi FM.
Mhlanga said his woes started when the station gave him a contract that had a probation clause.
"I was suspended because I questioned the management about my contract. I could not understand why I was on probation."
Surprisingly, Mhlanga's lawyer, Fani Dingiswayo, said Mhlanga received a dismissal letter after the hearing. "I know he got a letter of dismissal."
