Two men were shot dead and two others wounded when six gunmen stormed into a shebeen in the Eastern Cape, police said yesterday.

Two men were shot dead and two others wounded when six gunmen stormed into a shebeen in the Eastern Cape, police said yesterday.

Spokesman Mzukisi Fatyela said the attack occurred on Monday in Libode.

Gunmen demanded money from the shebeen owner and then opened fire, he said.

The gunmen took the shebeen owner's cellphone and fled.

The two injured customers were taken to hospital and were in a serious condition.

No arrests have been made. - Sapa
