Whatever sophistry the South African Football Association comes up with to allay the nation's fears, there is no denying that Bafana coach Carlos Parreira's sudden decision to quit has upset the applecart.

Reacting to the development yesterday, SAFA president Molefi Oliphant sought to assure the nation by saying there was no crisis.

His euphoria stemmed from the fact that Parreira will remain technical adviser of the squad and the new coach appointed to continue his work.

The reality is that time is not on our side and that knowledge is bound to cause general uneasiness around the whole saga.
