In a snap survey conducted by Sowetan yesterday over the sudden departure of Bafana Bafana coach Alberto Parreira, this is what people had to say:

Junior Shoba: "I feel bad about his resignation. Though he started on a wrong footing, losing some games, he has shown progress and built a squad of young players."

Sam Ntuli: "I did not want him to quit. He is a good coach. I would prefer a local coach though because they understand local football better."

Mandla Mngomezulu: "He is right to go. He did not do anything except pocketing a lot of money. He earned more than the president of our country but produced nothing special.

"His salary could have been used for other social upliftment projects. We want a local coach. If we lose, at least we would be losing with our own man in charge."

Thuli Mthembu: "He must go. We want a local coach."

Maria Mphehlo: "If his wife is sick let him attend to her. I would prefer an overseas-based coach because they are good."
