The three University of Limpopo students who are accused of throwing a fellow student out of a moving minibus after a squabble over a slogan are out on bail.
But fellow students do not want then back on campus.
Students at the university yesterday said "come hell or high water" the three will not be welcome.
Student representative council chairman Lucas Masoga said they would only allow them to study at the institution if they underwent a disciplinary process and after the matter was finalised in court.
"We understand and respect the court's decision to grant them bail, but it should be understood that these students are not fit to live with people because they are dangerous," he said.
George Tswai, 24, and Tivane Selomola, 22, are out on R5000 bail each, while Raymond Mavelevele, 23, was unable to pay bail of R2000.
The three were not asked to plead and the case was postponed to May 23.
The Mankweng magistrates' court ordered them not to contact state witnesses or interfere with police investigations.
The lawyer representing them told the court that his clients were falling behind with their studies and asked the court to be sympathetic and release them on bail.
The students are accused of throwing fellow student Nkosinathi Mhlongo, 22, out of a moving minibus on February 23.
The students were returning from the Union Buildings in Pretoria, where they had protested before Education Minister Naledi Pandor against registration fee hikes when the incident happened.
Transport for the three students had left them when they asked for a lift on the minibus used by Students Christian Organisation members.
An argument apparently erupted between the three students and the occupants of the minibus over a slogan.
The three students allegedly forced the occupants of the minibus to sing their favourite songs but Mhlongo refused to comply.
He was allegedly assaulted from Mookgophong, about 300km from Turfloop, until he was thrown out of the minibus near the Mankweng Hospital.
He was taken to the hospital where he was certified dead.
University of Limpopo Turfloop campus spokesman Dinkwanyane Mohuba said all processes against the three students would be instituted.
