Majimbos plan to play against either Zimbabwe or Botswana to sharpen themselves up for the 2009 African Under-17 Championships qualifiers.

Solly Luvhengo, the team's assistant coach, said the initial plan was to play at the end of the month but the game will be moved to sometime in May.

This was after a request from First National Bank, Majimbos' sponsors, who want them to grace the opening of the first open grounds with artificial grass in Durban. FNB is one of the South African partners of the 2010 Fifa World Cup with MTN and Telkom.

"The plan was to have a training camp and play a game in two weeks' time but that will be postponed to accommodate our sponsors' programme," said Luvhengo.

Majimbos, who are coached by Teboho Moloi, played in a four nation tournament in Namibia last month where they won a bronze medal.

"We are still in the early stages of our preparations for the tournament because the qualifiers will only be starting in August. Teboho and I are still searching for more players, we want to get the best so that we do not only qualify for the finals in Algeria but do well.

"Majimbos are the only national team who are still to qualify for a global tournament after winning on the continent, which is not good for us.

"It is high time that we should qualify for the World Under-17 Championships. The spotlight in soccer is now on South Africa."

Majimbos will play against the winner between Malawi and Mozambique. The junior Flames won the first leg at home 5-0.
