A mismatch. That is how some of Mamelodi Sundowns' loyalists have described The Brazilians' Nedbank Cup quarterfinal match against National First Division club FC Cape Town at Athlone Stadium tomorrow.

"Masandawana", as Sundowns' die-hards are affectionately known, could not be blamed for regarding FC Cape Town as pushovers, especially if their team's recent display is taken into account.

But they should be warned to underestimate the Capetonians at their peril.

Coach Johnny Ferreira's side has a bunch of young players with big hearts and the team is balanced by experienced players.

Youngsters such as Fabian Warley and Daren Dicks play like seasoned campaigners.

They are complemented by the likes of Tshepo Moletsane and Marchelino Fransch.

Fransch is inspired after he was drafted into the Safa national development team to play Mauritius on May 3.

Interestingly, Errol Dicks, the Cape club's boss, says they are not threatened by the powerful Sundowns side.

Dicks did not rule out an upset tomorrow.

The hosts will need to work hard and concentrate throughout the match if they harbour hopes of beating a team of Sundowns' ilk.

Fransch and company will need to be at their sharpest if they intend to beat goalkeeper Brian "Spider" Baloyi, who seems to have regained the form that once made him one of the most trusted goal minders in the Premiership.

Josta Dladla and Lerato Chabangu are also playing well and could help the visitors win.

Mahlatse Mphahlele, Downs' media and communications officer, said though they have the players to win tomorrow, they will not underestimate FC Cape Town.

Kickoff is at 8pm.

Elsewhere also tomorrow, Nathi Lions travel to Witbank as favourites to beat Mpumalanga Black Aces in their quarterfinal clash at Atlantic Stadium at 3pm.

But the hosts' spokesman Thabo Moroape has vowed to tear Mlungisi "Professor" Ngubane's side to shreds.
