CAF dissects Ghana Afcon

The Confederation of African Football has organised a coaches' postmortem of the 26th MTN Africa Cup of Nations, which took place in Ghana in February.

The seminar will take place at CAF headquarters in Cairo, Egypt, from April 21 to 23 where 53 technical experts will attend.

The delegates are from all national associations affiliated to CAF, who have also invited technical experts from Fifa and Uefa.

Bafana Bafana's Carlos Alberto Parreira will also be there, according to Morio Sanyane, South African Football Association communications director.

"We have received an invitation from CAF for the coach to attend a seminar where they will do a review of the Afcon."

CAF communications department said the seminar forms part of their efforts to improve the game on the continent. They will also identify key challenges in African football development.

Some of the big names who graced the Ghana tournament included Didier Drogba, Salomon Kalou, Michael Essien, Aaron Mokoena and Steven Pienaar.Egypt successfully retained their title.

l Molefi Oliphant, Safa president, is in Cairo to attend a Fifa workshop for match commissioners. It started yesterday. Also with Oliphant in Cairo but attending a CAF disciplinary committee meeting is Safa chief executive Raymond Hack.
