Wits out to make light work of Stars
Having dimmed Free State Stars 1-0 last Wednesday, Bidvest Wits are out to complete their load-shedding by leaving Platinum Stars from North West in the dark tonight.
The two meet in a potentially explosive Absa Premiership game at Milpark Stadium at 8pm.
George "Soekies" Mogotsi, Wits' manager, says it is important for The Students to maintain their consistency at home until the end of the season.
They are expected to make it two in a row against The Tycoons after their hard-fought victory over the Free Staters at the same venue.
Mogotsi says the team's mission is to collect maximum points in their last six remaining games, including today's.
"It is not going to be a walk in the park against Stars because they have quality players and a good coach.
"We are going to fight tooth and nail to grab the three points from our opponents in order to better our fifth spot on the log.
"The team is injury-free and the players are looking forward to dimming the last Stars [Platinum Stars]," he added.
Stars' manager Thamaga Mokgophi says they are also out for a win against the hosts after throwing away two valuable points against AmaZulu in a goalless draw in Durban last weekend.
"This is a must-win game if we hope to fulfill our hopes of targeting a top eight position,'' said Mokgophi.
A win for either sidewill have an impact on the log. If fifth-placed Wits win, they will overtake Lamontville Golden Arrows in fourth position while a win for Stars will see them moving from 12th position to the middle of the table.
Wits will rely on Clive Moyo-Modise, who scored the goal against Ea Lla Koto. Stars welcome midfielder Thabiso Monareng back from injury.
