Internationally acclaimed scathamiya group Ladysmith Black Mambazo, which has been touring the world, is expected to mesmerize music lovers on Thursday night.

The outfit will perform at the Bassline in Newtown, Johannesburg, as part of Gallo's Sama Awards Nominee Showcase.

The group became famous all over the world after singing with Paul Simon on his hit album Graceland.

The group has won many awards since then.

It was formed in 1960 by Joseph Shabalala. It will give local fans a taste of what has made the group so popular overseas.

Hoping to unleash the best talent, the Gallo celebration will start with several much-anticipated performances from talent that was recently nominated for the coming Sama.

The Newtown line-up is fabulous. It also has the Soul Brothers, Joe Mafela, Phuzukhemisi, Danny K, Jacques, Oguluva, Themba Ngwenga, Imithente, Tzozo and Professor, Mooiplaas Boereorkes and Bongi Dube.

You can look forward to super performances by all the individuals and groups, who will ensure that you get your money's worth.

Last year Soul Brothers were among the artists who received Sama lifetime achievement awards.

Dube, though not an official Sama nominee this year, represents the calibre of artist that Gallo is signing up and releasing this year.

This fantastic show, which will start at 7pm sharp, is a steal at R20 a ticket, so make sure that you don't miss it.
