Our roads are hell and no one bothers

For the past 20 years I have noted with disbelief that roads from towns to villages in Eastern Cape (the former Transkei) seem to be of no concern to those in authority.

Sometimes I think they are completely unaware of this or simply don't care.

For instance, the main road from Idutywa via Ebende, Fort Malan Location and beyond is terrible, especially after rains. Driving there is sheer hell.

I believe that main roads should be tarred as a matter of course.

Our elders and others have to endure torturing trips to and from town .
