Department of Home Affairs spin doctor Mantshele "Slender" Tau is back with karate, where he is helping to develop the sport in Phokeng, North West.

Tau, a Sensei, is working with the Royal Bafokeng Sports (RBS) development section to revive martial arts in the area.

He is part of the four-man dele- gation from Bafokeng to Tokyo, Japan, on Sunday for an instructors seminar.

The other three officials going to Japan are Sensei Abram Mpete, the Seabelo brothers - Shihan Chris and Sensei Ezzy.

The latter is the development manager of RBS.

"It is a two-week world seminar for JKA (Japan Karate Association). All the recognised instructors globally will be attending," said Tau. "There is talent in abundance in Phokeng and the entire North West. The support from Royal Bafokeng Sports is helping us a great deal to develop it."
