Bidvest Wits are fired-up for tonight's Absa Premiership clash against Free State Stars at Milpark Stadium.

Kick off is at 7.30pm.

Wits' manager George Mogotsi also emphasised that they are in desperate need for maximum points to improve their position on the log.

He said they will be out for revenge after the Free State outfit humbled them 3-1 in the first round in Bethlehem on November 14.

"Stars are coming to us and we are well prepared to send them back to the Free State empty-handed.

" My charges are aware that the time of donating points is over and they must now start winning,'' said Mogotsi.

But he has warned his team not to undermine their opponents despite having home advantage.

Wits have been engaged in friendly games to keep the players in good shape.

Stars' brand manager Rantsi Mokoena told Sowetan that they had put their 6-1 drubbing by SuperSport United in their last game in Atteridgeville on March 23 behind them.

"This is a new game altogether and we are out to prove that our 3-1 victory over Wits last November was not a flash in the pan.

"My boys are motivated after mercilessly trouncing Ikapa Sporting 8-1 in the Nedbank Cup last month,'' said Mokoena.

Wits' attack will be spearheaded by Marco De Jesus while their backline will be manned by Kagiso Denge and company.

Stars are positioned sixth on the log with 35 points from 23 games and are a point ahead of the seventh-placed Clever Boys from the same number of matches.

The game is bound to be a thriller as both sides will go for broke to remain within the top eight spot.
