Akon and Fat Joe will be at the Urban Music Festival at the CocaCola Dome in Johannesburg on April 11 and the Good Hope Centre on April 12.

An MTV Base and 5FM initiative, the festival is set to be an yearly not-to-be- missed event on the entertainment calendar. It will unleash two of the hottest hip-hop artists.

MTV award-winning artists Akon will perform locally for the second time, while Fat Joe will be making his debut.

The American duo have a creative sound that has seen them perform with some of the best, such as Alicia "Mkhize" Keys at the Billboard Awards and P Diddy at the NFL kickoff party.

They will be joined by Black Violin.

Hoping to blow away the roof and represent Mzansi well are Jozi and Danny K. Leanne and Lungi will hoist the flag for the fairer sex in Joburg, while Loyiso will heal broken hearts and stoke romantic fires, which will be calmed by Ready D who will scratch fans down to the dance floor.

Golden tickets cost R360 at Computicket general admission is R180.
