The Zindala Zombili Festival at the Mafikeng Convention Centre at the weekend was a success.

It breathed life into an otherwise quiet Mafikeng as dancers and musicians from all corners of the country gathered to celebrate the African cultural heritage.

They came by bus, car and minibus taxis to showcase their talents and heritage.

Dance and music represented a kaleidoscope of what the country has to offer.

It was interesting to witness a representation of African culture through dance and music as groups strutted their stuff on stage.

The Tsonga, Zulu, Swazi, Pedi and several other groups showed what this country can offer in terms of cultural heritage.

In their colourful garb, they proudly did their best to impress the packed venue on Saturday and yesterday. All nine provinces were represented.

Gauteng dominated the festival with six groups.
