After a string of poor results, Lamontville Golden Arrows begin their mammoth task of finishing the season well inside the top eight bracket on home soil tomorrow.

Abafana Bes'thende take on the equally struggling Bloemfontein Celtic in an Absa Premiership match at King Zwelithini Stadium at 3pm.

Guided by Manqoba Mnqithi, Arrows seem to have lost the sting which saw them become one of the early title challengers before the Africa Cup of Nations break.

They have managed to pick up only one point in their last three games as a result of the goalless draw against Orlando Pirates.

In the other two games, the Lamontville outfit were defeated 2-1 and 3-1 by Mamelodi Sundowns and the in-form Santos, respectively.

In fact, their last Premiership victory was when they pipped neighbours AmaZulu 1-0 in a Durban derby on February 20.

Against Phunya Selesele, Arrows are coming up against a club that is also desperate for the elusive victory to appease the multitudes of Siwelele.

They have not won a single game since the return of coach Khabo Zondo after Siwelele put pressure on the management to recall him.

Celtic have played two games and one Nedbank Cup match. In the league, they were defeated by Platinum Stars and Santos.

First Division side Ikapa Sporting booted them out of Ke Yona, but reports said the management had a pep talk with the players on Tuesday night.

The management made it clear that they were unhappy with the performance of certain players and urged everybody to pull up their socks.

They welcomed back captain John Maduka from suspension, but are still without striker Darrel Smith, who still has to serve one match. Maduka will come up against the likes of Kagisho Dikgacoi and Papi Zothwane for a titanic battle in the engine room.
