Police spokesman Inspector Kay Makhubela said the First National Bank ATM at the Naledi complex was bombed at 2am and an undisclosed amount of money was stonen.
People near the complex said they heard a loud bang and phoned the police.
On arrival police found some of the money lying on the ground, Makhubela said.
A case of malicious damaged to property has been opened.
