One of Durban's biggest yearly surfing events, The Quiksilver Pro Durban, will introduce features that encourage youngsters to take part in the prestigious event.

Eight junior surfers, hand-picked from Surfing South Africa's development programme, will surf in the new division, Komunity Project Future Stars. The surfers will be flown to Durban and accommodated there by the Komunity Project .

The eight junior surfers will then take part in an exclusive surf-off in which they will be given the opportunity to win a wildcard to the Quicksilver Pro Junior main event.

They will also be in line for a one-year sponsorship from Komunity Project if they do well.

Surfing SA is committed to a number of development programmes.
