I sympathise with Mphafolane Koma for the ordeal he and his family went through and wish him the best of luck in suing his church.

A female friend and I went through a similar ordeal on Good Friday in 2006. Our crime was that we took pictures of their so-called holy mountain - as if someone had brought it there on his head.

As an amateur photographer I always carry a camera and I love taking pictures of the beautiful scenery in Limpopo, which I did while driving past Mankweng heading towards Magoebaskloof.

Just after the entrance to Moria we stopped on the side of the road to wait for one of the congregants. Our vehicle was surrounded by an unruly mob accusing us of illegally taking pictures.

We showed them the digital pictures and erased everything to appease them.

The idiot leading the mob thought we had hidden the photos . We were "arrested" and driven to Moria and hurled in front of a makeshift court made up of the elders .

We were found "guilty" and the judgment was that the "arresting" officers had to ensure that the pictures were destroyed.

We were only set free after five agonising hours.
