While Trott Moloto might be anxious about injuries to key players on the eve of an important away match, the goalkeeping department is probably not one of them.
The South African champions will meet Curepipe Starlight of Mauritius in the second leg of the African Championship League on Sunday at 3pm.
Sundowns beat Curepipe 3-0 at home two weeks ago. Calvin Marlin's knock on Sunday has ensured that he will be out for weeks, but in Brian Baloyi, Moloto has a man capable of stemming the wave of attacks the Curepipe players will probably unleash on the visiting Brazilians.
So, no rotation system for now, although young goalkeeper Jackson Mabokgoane will provide cover should the need arise.
The Brazilians have generally been impressive in defence, but Baloyi, who has raked in many honours in his more than 10 years of professional football, has been making something of a comeback, prompting some to call for national coach Carlos Alberto Parreira to call him up for national duty.
"The dream lives on for me. I remain optimistic, believing in the possibility of winning a championship medal in the next three years. I also think its possible for me to be called up for Bafana Bafana. I mean, why not? But the game in Mauritius will not be as easy as people seem to think," Baloyi said.
Curepipe packed their defence and waited for a chance to break in the first leg, an approach they will not adopt at home.
"Most of their players are in their national team, but we won't just defend," said Baloyi.
l Platinum Stars will be taking on USS Tamponnaise of Reunion tomorrow and, although they struggled to find a breakthrough against their opponents two weeks ago, they do have a 2-0 lead.
Their biggest weapon would be their coach Miguel Gamondi, who with his vast African experience should be able to plan very well and psyche his players up.
l Also tomorrow, Ajax Cape Town face Anse Rense of the Seychelles, and take a 1-0 lead with them. The Urban Warriors will face an uphill battle, although a draw will be enough to see them win on aggregate. The likes of Bryce Moon, Nathan Paulse and Russel Mwafulira will have to be at their best, if Craig Rosslee's team are to progress in this competition.
