Karateka invited to meet

Both full and semi-contact karate styles in Limpopo have been invited to attend a meeting at the Capricorn District Municipality in Polokwane tomorrow at 5pm.

Both full and semi-contact karate styles in Limpopo have been invited to attend a meeting at the Capricorn District Municipality in Polokwane tomorrow at 5pm.

The meeting is convened by Karate South Africa with a mission of forming an interim structure in the province.

Earlier this year, KSA president Cass Sehloho and his deputy Shihan Isaac "African Tiger" Mashinini were assigned by the organisation's management committee to foster unity in the country.

Said Mashinini: "I am urging all full and semi-contact styles and their instructors to come in large numbers."

KSA managed to establish an interim structure in KwaZulu-Natal in February and will visit Mpumalanga and Gauteng respectively this month.

"Our task is to make sure that karate is unified at the end so that it can take its rightful place in the sporting fraternity," he added.

He thanked Limpopo sports and recreation for being instrumental in arranging the venue and hopes he will attend as well. - Meshack Khotha
