Agnes Maseko will now sleep like a baby. Her car will now be parked in her garage because the door was finally fixed last Thursday.

The garage door was not properly installed and when Maseko could not find the people who had originally installed it, she had to enlist the services of another company.

She called Ricky Buntman, a sales director of Jenrick Doors, to refit her garage door. She was quoted R1500 which she paid in cash, said Maseko.

She was also assured that it would take half a day to complete the job. Five months later it had not been completed.

Jenrick employees did not honour the agreement when they promised to complete the work the day after she called, Maseko said.

"They didn't show up and five days later their office phoned to remind me to pay my account. I had deposited the money, even though the work was left incomplete," said Maseko.

Getting Jenrick to complete its work was a challenge for Maseko, she said.

"They made empty promises and meaningless apologies to stop me from complaining.

"If they were not busy because of load shedding, they had a problem with the springs of my garage door, even though they had not been to my house since November last year."

Maseko said Jenrick's owner later "passed the buck to his employee who had failed to complete the job".

"This is the worst service I have ever had. I am so frustrated and angry because I have paid Jenrick Doors the full amount, but to date I still can't use my garage," said Maseko.

Jenrick Doors could not explain why they had delayed in fixing the door.

After Consumer Line's enquiry the company went to her house and fixed the door.
