Platinum Stars continued to impress in the African Champions League after their 2-0 over USS Tamponnaise of Reunion at Royal Bafokeng Stadium in Rusteburg on Saturday night.
Stars' spokesman, Thamaga Mokgophi, said: "It is better to play a team you don't know than to play the one you know. As I said earlier we were not going to allow them to beat us at home.
"The guys were all determined and they did their best. So we're looking at going all the way to the final.
"The boys are hungry for glory and we're determined to make a mark in this competition."
The game itself was, however, an eye sore with the home team trying everything to entertain the fans with their passing football but found little ressistance from their opponents.
The Reunion side was no threat to Stars who were all over them from the first to the final whistle.
Stars' Steve Lekoelea opened the scoring in the 60th minute with a low drive, beating Ledoyn Emanuel, the USS Tamponnaise goalkeeper hands down.
Stars were always on the attack and could have won this encounter with an avalanche of goals, but were let down by their forwards who often shot wide inside their opponents' goal area.
It was a foregone conclusion when Hareaipha "Simba" Marumo increased the margin in the 70th minute that the Tycoons sealed the match.
The visitors tried hard to narrow the margin but they could not penetrate their opponents defence.
