Police efforts to make a breakthrough in their long-running investigation into the murder of Pretoria taxi boss Hosia Shime Sithole have been disappointing so far.

Police efforts to make a breakthrough in their long-running investigation into the murder of Pretoria taxi boss Hosia Shime Sithole have been disappointing so far.

Our despair stems from the fact that, despite being in possession of vital clues that have been handed over to them, the police have shown little enthusiasm to pursue the case with vigour.

Sithole was gunned down while sitting in his car on June 23 last year.

The getaway car was found and some witnesses made crucial statements but nothing has been done since.

After the family complained about the unsatisfactory manner in which the probe was being conducted, a new investigating officer was appointed last week.
