Vigilance needed

It is disheartening that South African women still fall prey to conmen and murderers who offer them nonexistent jobs.

Several serial rapists and murderers have successfully lured their victims to their deaths by promising them jobs.

It must be noted that reputable companies do not tout at taxi and bus ranks for potential workers. They also do not have recruiters pounding pavements to ask people for money to secure jobs.

Our report yesterday about a conman roaming the streets of Soweto and Johannesburg preying on unemployed women should serve as a lesson for the gullible.

Desperation should not mean that women continue to be easy prey for vultures.
