The Nissan Pathfinder was recently upgraded, receiving a whole lot of new features.
The additions were expected to add to the overall executive feel of this sports utility vehicle and compliment its off-road ability.
Among the latest features is the BOSE Premium 10-speaker surround audio system with a six-CD changer.
Also on offer is an integrated blue tooth hands-free system that further adds to the overall luxury and convenience of the vehicle.
The blue tooth system, with memory function, allows you to synchronise your cellphone with the vehicle.
Exterior styling has been enhanced by the addition of new seven-spoke 17-inch alloy wheels and wraparound turn signals on the side mirrors that also include puddle lamps.
Embedded puddle-lamps encased below the side mirrors switch on when the doors are unlocked and illuminate the ground below the front doors.
The Pathfinder is equipped with Hill-Start Assist (HSA) and Hill Descent Control (HDC), already standard equipment on the automatic derivatives, is now also available on the manual drive train.
The addition of aluminium kicking plates on the doorsills and tailgate offers an aesthetic appeal and also protects against scuff marks and scratches.
Inside the cabin new illumination lights have been included in the foot- wells to facilitate entry, while the metallic finishes on the centre console are scratch resistant.
The Pathfinder range consists of three model derivatives. Top of the range is the petrol-powered 4-litre V6 that produces 198kW at 560rpm, offering a torque peak of 386Nm at 4000rpm.
Two diesel options are available with the choice of either a manual or automatic transmission.
Both are powered by a 2,5-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine, which produces 128kW at 4000rpm and a powerful 403Nm of torque at just 2000rpm.
Nissan SA product manager Nigel Kapswarah said the balance between off-road ability and on-road refinement is always difficult to achieve.
But, he said, Nissan has succeeded in attaining this equilibrium with the Pathfinder.
It has a seven-seat configuration with three rows of seats. The second and third rows fold flat into the floor to create a huge load area that can be configured in 64 different ways.
