Promoter Blacky Seoe does not have the exact date for the showdown between reigning World Boxing Foundation (WBF) lightweight king Mlungisi Dlamini and Australian Nedal Hussein.
But Howard Goldberg, who represents the WBF in Africa, said the fight, which he described as the champion's stiffest test ever in his fruitful career which spans eight years, could take place in May.
Seoe's company, the Robs Boxing Promotions, staged Dlamini's first defence in Bloemfontein in February, when he stopped Argentinian Jairo Moura dos Santos in less than two minutes.
That was Dlamini's 11th short route win in 17 victories against a draw. The 25-year-old charismatic puncher from Esikhawini in KwaZulu Natal, is yet to taste defeat.
His efficiency as a fighter is perfected by Warren Hulley in Gauteng. Dlamini, who is affectionately known as the "Shark", won the title on March 3 last year.
Argentinian Ivan Bustos fell four times in three rounds before referee Wally Snowball stopped the brutality in the fifth round.
Dlamini joined Seoe in December last year, and made a resound debut under the Free Stater who will be in charge when Dlamini takes on Hussein.
The latter, 30, who is known as "Skinny", is a battle-scarred-warrior whose CV of 43 wins (27 KOs) against five defeats suggests that he has seen it all and done it all.
He made an impression when in his only sixth professional fight, won the Australian junior featherweight belt on November 14 in 1997.
Hussein went on to become the WBO Asia Pacific, IBF Pan Pacific and IBO Inter-Continental junior featherweight belts holder.
Hussein has been in the ring with big-name fighters such as Manny Pacquiao, Scott Harrison and Oscar Larios.
He was unexpectedly stopped by Takashi Uchiyama, a Japanese novice of nine wins from as many fights, in the eighth round for the vacant OPBF junior lightweight title in September last year in Japan.
