Former Springbok captain Joost van der Westhuizen has been appointed chief operations officer of Progressive Investment Holdings.

The chief executive, Freddie Andalaft, yesterday said it has taken two years of negotiations for the financial and property investment company to get the 37-year-old rugby scrum-half legend on board.
