The number of people reading Sowetan has grown by leaps and bounds, according to the All Media and Products Survey (AMPS).
More than 2million people read Sowetan daily, up from just more than 1million in 2006.
The overwhelming majority are blacks at 97,1 percent of readers.
The survey shows that most readers live in Gauteng, Limpopo, North West and Mpumalanga.
The biggest group of readers - 27,3 percent - fall comfortably in the middle class, or LSM 6.
More exciting news from Google Analytics shows that Sowetan's website has more than 3million pageviews and 53069 visits a day.
The average visitor spends about nine minutes on the site.
Last month Nielsen NetRatings rated the newspaper number five in South Africa behind google.co.za, google.com, search.live.com and news.google.co.za
The top 10 countries that access the website include the UK, the US, France and Australia.
