A Soweto man's body was found yesterday morning with his nose and an ear missing, Johannesburg police said.

A Soweto man's body was found yesterday morning with his nose and an ear missing, Johannesburg police said.

Spokesman Inspector Kay Makhubela said the man, aged between 40 and 48, was found next to a railway line close to a municipal building.

"He was found without his nose and left ear. The suspects also attempted to cut off his right ear. He also had a big wound at the back of his head."

The man was wearing a blue raincoat with a maroon T-shirt underneath. His pockets were searched either before or after he was killed. - Sapa
