You have always wanted to be part of ground-breaking gospel outfit Joyous Celebration, but thought you were not good enough to audition. Right?

Don't worry. For the first time this award-winning gospel outfit will take on new choristers. This could be the chance you have been waiting for as an aspiring chorister.

The producers announced yesterday that they would hold auditions for new members in five provinces, starting in Gauteng tomorrow.

"Being a developmental project, one of the fundamental objectives of Joyous Celebration is to unearth, develop and showcase new musicians. The Joyous concept has always been enigmatic to a lot of people because of its format. We have been referred to as a gospel group or choir. We prefer to be referred to as a gospel project or gospel concept. The reason is because the crew changes every two years," the producers announced.

"In keeping with this objective, 2008 will mark the year for the Joyous Celebration cast of 2009 and beyond."

The Gauteng auditions will be held tomorrow at the State Theatre in Pretoria (Rendezvous Theatre) from 9am to 6pm.

The details for auditions in Eastern Cape, KwaZulu-Natal, Western Cape and Free State will be issued in due course, the producers added.

Meanwhile, Joyous Celebration will open this season's performances at the State Theatre in on Thursday.
