Divas concert to wow fun lovers in Witbank
This year the annual music feast, the Divas concert, will for the first time be held outside Gauteng. The event, which boasts three international superstars will entertain hordes of fans at the Witbank Dam in Mpumalanga.
The international superstars arethe hugely influential British singer-songwriter Joan Amatrading, Canadian-American Grammy-nominated R&B siren Tamia, and UK singing sensation Keisha White.
These stars will compete for the hearts and minds of South African music lovers with a host of local musicians.
The concert, of which the theme is Stop! Abuse of Women and Children, boasts a local line-up of Busi Mhlongo, Freshlyground, Judith Sephuma, Siphokazi, Malaika, Lira, Rebecca Malope, Camagwini, and Zonke.
Much to the delight of music lovers White will share the stage with her icon, Amatrading, who has beautifully remade her song Weakness In Me.
South Africa has always been close to Joan's heart. She has performed live for her idol, former president Nelson Mandela, at his 70th birthday at Wembley Stadium in 1999 and also wrote a tribute song titled The Messenger and performed it for him on his visit to the UK the following year.
Tamia, who's famous for her hit Stranger In My House, has made South Africa her second home.
After performing for the first time in the country in 2005, she fell in love with its people to such an extent that she chose to drop her fourth album, Between Friends, first in South Africa in 2006.
