FC Cape Town and Durban Stars will take their National First Division (NFD) rivalry into the Nedbank Cup. Their bosses yesterday described tonight's match as a "winnable" clash.

The two confront each other in the last-32 phase at Blue Downs Stadium in the Mother City and kickoff is at 8pm.

FC Cape Town's boss, Errol Dicks, and his counterpart at Stars, Phindani Nene, did not mince their words when they declared that their teams will march to the next round of the competition at each other's expense.

Their league form offers no pointers, after the two Coastal Stream adversaries drew their first and second round matches this season.

Both teams can give their all in this tournament, considering that they are safe from relegation. Dicks was adamant his Durban rivals will see stars tonight.

"I have no doubt in my mind that Stars will not have a chance against us in Cape Town and we are ready for them," warned Dicks, whose side are motivated by their 1-0 win over Hanover Park in their last league match.

Nene was unperturbed by Dicks' threats and maintained that Stars will shine brighter.

He added: "We also have the potential to win this away match. The players are determined to see themselves playing in the next round of this tournament and I think they will succeed in their mission."

The hosts' attack will be led by Marchelino Fransch and Marcelino Johnson, while Stars will rely on their top scorer, Mukendi Mulumba.
