Defending champions Task Academy is to appear before a disciplinary committee hearing after the school failed to honour Gauteng's Coca-Cola Football Stars Under-18 championships on Saturday.

This after the academy's management failed to produce team documents before the kickoff of the yearly event at the KwaThema Sports Complex near Springs.

Maseli Maseli, chairman of Gauteng School Football, said the school faced charges of flouting the rules of the tournament and putting the province and sponsors into disrepute.

"Disciplinary measures will take the normal course,'' said a disappointed Maseli.

Highlands North Boys School lifted this year's trophy by beating Meadowlands High School 5-4 on penalties.

They will now represent Gauteng at the national tournament billed for Matlosana in Klerksdorp from May 1 to 3.

Both teams huffed and puffed until the end of regulation time and the game went into a penalty shootout.

Highlands' scorers were Roger Majafa, Mthokozisi Hodi, Ronald Mohlaka, Lehlohonolo Masalesa and Menzi Masuku while Mzuvele Sikhosana, Mondli Miya and Itumeleng Ramokone netted for the Meadowlands side.

The Highlands North side pocketed R50 000 and a trophy.
