Khabo Zondo is back as coach of Bloemfontein Celtic.

This is after Siwelele (Celtic supporters) stood firm in their demand for his reinstatement as head coach at an urgent meeting at Batho Community Hall last Thursday.

The purpose of the tension-filled meeting was to get clarity on the future of the technical team and management's decision to sack Zondo, for no apparent or valid reasons.

The meeting was called after Celtic lost 1-0 to Orlando Pirates in a mid-week Absa Premiership game played at Seisa Ramabodu Stadium.

PRO Sello Nduna, Khumbulani Konco, team manager, Eden "The End" Katango, general management and Thato Matuka, assistant team manager, represented management.

The supporters expressed dismay at the absence of Aikie Augousti, chief executive officer and others.

They were also not happy with the absence of the players, who they blamed for the poor results and wanted them to also account to the team.

"Not only Zondo should be blamed, we must equally apportion blame on the players for the recent streak of poor results. They have not showed commitment," one speaker said.

Although there was concern with the team's recent poor run, the decision to sack the coach sparked an uproar within the supporters of Phunya Selesele.

Siwelele criticised management in that the decision, taken without them being informed, had exposed the team to a crisis.

The supporters were not happy that management indicated in the media that the sacking of Zondo was also based on mounting pressure from them (supporters).

"Who fired coach Zondo? If the management feels he failed the team, then why retain David Modise and Benjamin Reed? It's only fair that they too must be shown the door because they are part of the technical team," said one speaker.

Some players were openly criticised for allegedly faking injuries.

However, Konco explained the medical process used to determine the fitness of players.

The majority of supporters demanded Zondo be reinstated and be given the freedom to continue working with his own technical team.

There was drama when Nduna revealed that Steve Khompela and recently fired Mamelodi Sundowns coach Gordon Igesund had been approached in case Zondo does not reconsider.

Angry supporters objected to the idea of having Igesund or Khompela coming to the team's rescue.

"You must bring Zondo to us. We will speak to him and give him assurance. Zondo is a victim of sabotage by people he trusted. He was not given enough support. "
