Former Kaya FM breakfast show host Pat Cash says he has no regrets about leaving the station.

He has landed a job at the new regional commercial radio Radio Northwest.

Cash is the afternoon drive show host at this newly launched station, which got its broadcast licence from the Independent Communications Authority of South Africa last year.

Cash left Kaya FM last year, reportedly after disagreements with the station's management.

Kaya FM has also just lost its managing director, Charlene Deacon, who is serving her notice after resigning last week.

But the DJ said contrary to media reports after his sudden departure from Kaya FM last year, he was not fired. He and the station's management had come to an "amicable" agreement t that they could no longer work together.

"An amicable agreement was reached by both parties to discontinue our working relationship," he says. "I'm proud of what I achieved at Kaya FM and I don't think anyone expected me to continue with the same slot for 10 years.

"I've proudly moved on to another challenge in North West, where I host the afternoon drive show Cash In The Afternoon," he said.
