Mozambique, Swaziland and Germany will make their debut in this year's third edition of the inter-provincial games in Mpumalanga.

This was confirmed by MEC for culture, sport and recreation Jabu Mahlangu at the launch at the Protea Hotel in Nelspruit yesterday.

The games will be played from March 26 to 28 in nine different sporting codes.

"We are expecting an Under-15 and U-17 ladies teams from the North Rhine Westphalia province in Germany. The Under-17s will play in these games as a guest team. Mozambique and Swaziland will also be taking part in the games for the first time," said Mahlangu.

He said the Mpumalanga provincial team was ready and raring to go.

"I urge other provinces and neighbouring countries to prepare thoroughly since our athletes have vowed not to extend the hospitality we are known for onto the field of play.

"They will ensure that by the end of the inter-provincial games they will have proven their superiority by winning the title," said Mahlangu.

KwaZulu-Natal and Free State are the other two provinces from the country that will take in the games.
